SWAP Project Interactive Audiovisual Performances and Installations
The Portugal-based SWAP Project is dedicated to dance and interactive digital media. SWAP dancers and choreographers use Augmented Reality and other digital technologies and
explore their effects on the body and stage space. They have developed software in C++ which responds to the movement of dancers, projecting contours on screens. The performers, technicians operating
the controls and audience can all interact with the projected silhouettes in real time.
The SWAP productions include Displacement (2004), New Media as Cyborg (2000-2001) and eDGe to be premiered in September 2006.
