Anthropod by Essexdance
Anthropod is one of the new collaborative investigations into choreographic form in a virtual/physical space, undertaken by dancers at Essexdance, Chelmsford, UK.
Using ReActor motion capture and other digital technologies, Essexdance runs a programme of innovative artistic and educational events.
Essexdance is the regional dance development agency for Essex. Its mission is 'to act as a focus for innovation and excellence for dance development in the County
and beyond. It works in professional and educational/community contexts to deliver a strategic range of dance events: from commissions, festivals and tours to professional
training events, educational and community projects and publications.'
Commissioned by dance.tech and MESH, Anthropod experiments with a set design, lighting, electronic sound and the projected image, and creates an intense dramatic
environment influencing an arcane movement hybrid.
